There was a quite long thread about this issue a while back, basically when gsync is on and vsync is off you will still get minor tearing usually at the bottom of the screen when the fps is a percentage below your screens hz due to the way gsync works. It has a latency which effects at what fps it works at. Webi have a 1440p gsync 144hz monitor. Gsync & Vsync both enabled in the control panel. Cap the frames to 137 with the in-game frame limiter. Nvidia Low Latency off. it's smooth with very consistent input delays. & recently, battle(non)sense on youtube showed that lowering gpu load with a frame limiter can deliver better input latency than higher fps.
